Bed Liner vs Bed Rug
#16
Wrong, a camper is not at all required and it is not carpet. I've read many, many posts on multiple forums where people have had Bedrugs in open beds for years and they held up.

I have had all 3 and I will never have another spray in bed liner. They show dents and I had one come unstuck and could not get any help on repair. Bed liners can take a little abuse and not show dents. Plus I have never had any problems with rubbing, thou I probably didn't remove the liner and look. As others have said, if you are going to put on a topper or tonnau cover, I like the bed rug. Mine was a "Ford" brand and fit like a glove. Plus, once during a Wood Badge training class for the BSA, I didn't have time to set up my tent after getting everyone else settled in, so I just lowered the tailgate and slid under the tonnau cover. I worked so well I slept there 2 more nights, just don't try and sit up. By the way, I owned a landscape company and hauled everything you could think of in the beds of my trucks. Just don't weld on the tailgate, the splatter will make burn marks in the carpet.
