302 in 51 F1 Ford w/Mustang II Front End??

How did you guys install/mount your 302s with the mustang II setup. The mustang II setup was already in the truck when I got it...

It will depend on what crossmember you have installed. I used these tubular mounts from Fatman Fabrications. Later on I added some extra gussets that are probably not necessary, but it made me feel better:

I can't speak for the different kinds of mounts and crossmembers, but the biggest issue for the 302 is trying to keep the front sump on the dual sump oil pan from hitting the steering rack. I had to shim mine up. Search for a thread called something like "recurrent problem 302 oil pan hits steering rack" and read it. We talked a lot about mounts too in that thread. I would find it for you but my phone wont let me search.

i used the mounts from tci and the stock ford motor mounts and still had to shim it with a 1/2 inch flatbar on top of the ford rubber mounts. worked out fine.

The oil pan was definitely a problem. I bought a rear sump oil pan and was able to put my engine in. You can see the work in the pics below.

I notched out the original tranny cross member but ended up cutting it completely out. The first exhaust I was going to put in wouldn't fit with it in there. Then I switched to shorty headers, but had already cut out the cross member.

I don't have any pics of the front clip in place....& it is apart right now. I'll dig up some pics of the brakes etc. & try to give you a reference point for crossmember location.

Maybe someone else has some pics that they can post today. Are you trying to set the front axle back to center the wheels up in the wheel wells?

Here's the only one that I have that might have a reference point. The MII crossmember was already installed on the chassis that I bought from Ilya. I did mock up the fenders and the wheels will be more centered in the wheel openings than stock. This pic show the relationship of the crossmember to the original engine mounts (those are gone now). I can take a few measurements if you need some detailed placement information.

About how much money does it take to set up the mustang II and the 302 mounts?

The kit is pretty expensive. I paid $1700 for mine from TCI. I had it installed (just didn't trust myself to get everything correct on it) for $550.
