Increasing hydraulic line pressure in the E40D?
#16
E4OD doesn't lock its TCC until 3rd gear, under light power or steady speed. Back on the throttle moderate to heavy will unlock it again.
It will unlock/lock during the shift to O/D.
Changing the thermostat will not clear limp mode, disconnecting the battery will but if problem isn't corrected will enter limp mode again in a very short time.
As suggest best place to start would be run KOEO self test to begin troubleshooting it, could be something as simple as a damaged wire under the truck.
