Any sugestions?
Sam is correct, you likely have nothing wrong with your DPF. This is a common trouble code for those who have installed aftermarket cold air intakes. What's the purpose of the intake? Are you tuned?

the onlt thing a cracked dpf does is blow more soot.
now sooner or later all dpfs will go bad from either face pluging or just ash load. this is normal and the unit would have to be replaced. this will also come at the expense of more regen cycles.
I was told by a guy that works at ford, that a perfectly good DPF CAN IN FACT have black smoke out the exhaust.

I never believed it, but what happens, is that oil can get through, but smoke can't.

So, if your turbo or something else is leaking, it can make it past the DPF, or even burn off the back side of the DPF, smoking. \

He said this is what happens to lots of DPF's, they get replaced, but only the symptom was fixed- not the problem.

Maybe, depending on how bad it got.

The problem is that the DPF gets replaced, when there was originally nothing wrong with it.

nay type of liquiq contamination will distroy a dpf. the dpf brick is wraped in a cloth mesh that seals it to the outter case to stop it from by passing the brick. once this mesh gets wet it can colaps and bypass.
