Pickup Truck Comparison between Chevy Silverado and Ford SD
Hi everyone
First I got to say that I’m a Ford man whether if it’s a Ford Car, Van or Truck. If it’s a Truck then for sure it’s going to be an Ford Truck built “Ford Tough!” I did find this Advertisement link on another Forum that I belong to for Chevy Silverado Pickup Trucks. They were talking and showing about on this Chevrolet site with videos of the Chevy Silverado Pickup Truck Comparison to Ford Pickup Trucks and Dodge Pickup Trucks. It said “See how the Chevy Silverado Pickup Truck compares to Ford and Dodge Pickup Trucks. Watch videos and read about head-to-head truck comparisons” at hd-to-hd-truck-comparison - http://www.chevrolet.com/hd-to-hd-truck-comparison/ .
I watched a similar video made by Ford showing the many differences between the way that Chevrolet, Dodge and Toyota built their trucks and how Ford built them “Ford Tough” with the built suggesting that Ford made Beefier and Brawnier trucks and the other trucks looked inferior.
Now I see this Truck Comparison and wonder what’s up. Did GM make a video(s) in a way to make Ford look inferior? The one test that they showing the Frame Strength claiming that they build their trucks beefier and that Ford had bumper sag plus the Ford Super Duty looking weak on every test. They make the Ford Super Duty buckle in that test. What the real truth here?

Yup, how do you think they knew to have a camera zoomed in on the tailgate just as it bends. The tests were obviously done in advance so they already knew what tests would make them look good. Otherwise they would not have got the zoom shot. They also say nothing about was rear end gears the trucks in the test have. They may have theirs set up with high ratio gears and the other trucks with low. If you watch the Ford videos doing the same type of power tests they tell you what gears are in each truck and hummm, guess what. Ford won.

comparison test against Ford
I knew that after I began watching their comparison test against Ford and Dodge that GM structured the test just to suit them. I think that is why I initially got so upset. Being that I come from Detroit and have family that works for Ford as well as GM. You would think that they all inhabit the Detroit and surrounding areas and even other states that they wouldn’t bad mouth each other or maybe just limit it to all the other imports that took a big bite out of Detroit. Maybe it me who only thinks this way but I have seen where one plant goes down and then it spiraled downward to parts suppliers and then to other business that depend on making a living because you have so many of their customers receiving a paycheck. To do such a test and have it so bias is just so wrong in my eyes. At lease when Ford made their test they supplied how the test was being conducted.
Maybe it was meaningless or naïve of me to even to post this originally but I just had to vent.
Redford, I see your Username and was wondering if you once lived in Redford Michigan?

I observe the trucks working on the road. Lately 1 ton pickups pulling 30,000 lb gosenecks become very popular. I didn't make notes so far, but in last year observed about 60 of them. About 40 were Dodge, 20 Fords. No Chevy to date in this business
Who will know better value of the truck, than guys working them heavy every day?.

It's funny in the greater Cincinnati area, there is a difference in which suburb your in. Mostly Fords on average all around though. We have a Chevy that we leased new, and I'll never buy another one. Not that we've had a ton of issues, but when I spend $40 k on a trailblazer SS, I dont expect shotty interior work and crappy paint.
