my buddy found a 55 ford crewcab

hey guys ive been trying to help find some more info for my buddy. he came across a 55 crewcab. it was bought new in 56, supposedly built for the fire department then the deal fell through or something and this guy bought it and used it on his farm. he plans on yanking the cab, engine and front sheetmetal and tossing the rest, i keep trying to tell him to keep it together, somebody will want it complete. he doesnt plan on keeping it, so also if any of you might be interested let me know and ill get you in contact with him

thanks

The rarest of all the old bodies. The nearly impossible to find crew cab. They were built specifically for fire departments, and Government agencies. An aftermarket conversion available as special order only. I agree, he needs not tear it down, but keep it as a whole, since those only come by once in a few life times.

That's definitely not something you see every day.

the truck is in Southern California, i was talking to my friend today, and he thinks he might be able to get it out in one piece, might take some work but doable. ill probably go out with him in a week or so to check it out on what it might take to get it out of 40yr resting place....

It'll take a big tow truck or a flatbed trailer to get that thing out of there. Good luck! Please keep us informed.

Way back in about 1978 I purchased a '55 pickup from a neighbor of mine who had probably close to 100 junked out vehicles on his place. My neighbor also had a '55 crew cab that was sitting there next to the pickup that I bought. I briefly thought about purchasing the crew cab also, but at the time I thought they were so ugly that only a mother could love it and I never saw it again.
Man, I kick myself for not buying it!
