2003 Expy 6-way driver seat

My 6-way power driver seat is intermittantly working --- right now it is not ---Took the seat out and put power to the motor that controls front to back and it spins, but when hooked up will not move seat forward or back. The tilt and up and down work just fine. Anybody else have these problems and any ideas on how to fix?

The motor needs to be replaced. Yes it's working, but it has no strength under a load. Sometimes you can disassemble the motor, clean the armature contacts and put a dab of grease in the end bushings and all will be well again. Sometimes you get away with it and sometimes you don't.

Last I knew, the dealer would only sell you the whole motor and track assembly for a mere pittance of about $800.00. As for finding the motor, you might have to pull it out to try and match it somewhere that deals with electric motors. You could also look for numbers on it and see if a web search produces any results, or post the number here and we'll give it a shot.

Rock Auto has single motors. I looked there after reading the horror stories of having to do the whole assembly. They were still expensive, but not $800.

This is the number on the motor --- 5500750 F 020410. Checked with Rock Auto they do have motors, but they are for Tilt and Vertical. I need the horizontal motor. Will keep looking
