My owners manual says use the FL-500 S, but an addendum to the manual says use FL 2055 due to its "significantly higher filtration efficiency and capacity". When I go to the dealer parts desk their computer says FL-2055 subs to Fl-500 S. Another separate piece of info from the dealer also stated use the FL-2055. I called Ford Customer relations and his info also stated use FL-500 S. My owners manual was printed in 2010 while the addendum is dated January 2011. I would not be worried except for the quote in the addendum stating the 2055 has "significantly higher filtration efficiency and capacity".
FL500S is the correct filter. Apparently, Ford started to switch over to the 2055, but then discontinued it. I've read that the larger 2055 had some clearance issues.
