Back up alarm

Is there a way to turn off the backup alarm when you are hooked to a trailer. The beeping is driving me crazy every time I backup the trailer. Thanks in advance.

The only way I know is to turn it off each time you back up when the alert shows in the info screen in the dash.

Are you referring to the backup sensor in the bumper.
OR the optional GARBAGE TRUCK BACKUP ALARM.

The backup sensor can be disabled from the message center, no problem.
When you place it in reverse, look at message center, toggle down to "off". It will reset at next engine start.

I'm refering to the back up camera in the tailgate that beeps when you get too close to something. When backing up the trailer, it just continually beeps because the trailer is the only thing that it sees and it thinks you are too close.

You can turn off the rear assist, by pushing the down arrow, and then the ok button, on the controls on the left side of the steering wheel. The rear assist alarm will stay off until the next key cycle. If your trailer has brakes, and you are still getting this alarm, then your trailer brake system is not working properly, or the trailer wiring connector is not making good contact.

Thanks to all who responded. I feel like such a dufus. I never have looked at the message center while backing before I was always too busy watching the mirrors There it was big as life.(Backing assist on-off) If it were a snake it would have bitten me. Finally peace and quiet. These things have way too many whistles & bells. You almost need an engineering degree to figure everything out. (LOL) But it is a lot like Christmas I find something new almost every day. Thanks Again. You guys are the greatest
