smog delete pulley

I have a 93 F150 5.0 and I am going to be deleting the smog pump. So I was wondering if this eliminator pulley from the Mustang would work so that I can just reuse the stock belt. 79-95 UPR MUSTANG PERFORMANCE SMOG PUMP ELIMINATOR KIT | eBay
It looks like it will work, but I wanted to 100% sure before I bought it

Why not removing the pump and getting a shorter belt? it's a lot cheaper, and it has worked flawlessly for me since more than a year ago, when i did it.

I was going to get one for my 351 from americanmuscle.com (I used to work there). The block is the same for all the 5.0 and 5.8 (well the bottom) and they would work fine. I found that if I removed the pulley there would be more belt wrap around the alternator but less around the water pump. Has anyone that has done this found that there has been excessive slipping on the water pump? it looks like there would be less than 40% of the belt around the pulley.

No issue here, but the belt routing must be different on my 5.0L, as removing the smog pump had no effect on belt wrap at the water pump.

I used the ford motorsport one on my 5.8. Belt wrap is better and the belt tensioner is in a better position now than factory. It also has the dayco scrip on it and looks factory. JMO

So, when I go to NAPA and ask them for a non-standard length belt, what do I ask for?
I have a 1995 F150 w/ 302.

940k6 is the part number you'll need if you have the same FEAD as shown in the link above.

Went to NAPA and they gave me a 6K935 which was a cross referenced compatible belt.
It is to big, very close, but to big. My FEAD is the same as the link provided, but i belive that engine was a 5.8 litre. I have a 5.0.
Can anyone offer up a proper belt size for 5.0 litre to bypass air pump.
thanks...

A 6K935 is a 93.5" belt, you'll need a 94" belt (6K940 would be a correct cross-reference). The engine in the link I posted is a 5.0L...trust me...it's in my truck. If the 93.5" belt you bought is too long, then either the FEAD arrangement is different, or it was routed incorrectly. With the routing I posted in the link, the belt does not use the upper idler at all, which I'd venture to guess is the source of the mixup. Specifically, look at post #5 and post #7 in that link.
