Fuel Pressure ?

Hello my 2001 V10 has been having a couple of hesitation problems it happened a few days ago, then today. It just acts like it was out of gas for about 2-3 seconds. I have a scan Gauge and it is not throwing any codes, and My superchips programmer is not showing any codes, even though I am not running any program right now.

So I just hooked up a fuel pressure gauge. With the ignition on but not started I have 22PSI. With the truck running at idle I have 32PSI. But at 3000RPM and even 4000RPM I still only get 32PSI.

I need to go on a 250 mile trip tomorrow and wondering if I should cancel. I am thinking maybe the fuel pressure regulator, but I need to figure it out before I have to leave on my trip. I won't be towing anything.

So please I need help ASAP. Thanks.

I am not an expert on this subject but can share this is different behavior then I see on my 2000 V10. I see 32 psi at idle then a jump to 40 psi under heavy acceleration then it settles out 38 psi while cruising at 3000 rpm. I hope that this helps…maybe someone with more experience with this subject will jump in shortly.

Ok I went on my trip of 330 miles. the truck ran fine most of the time, but I had some more hesatation and it would only happen crusing at around 1600-1800 RPM. So after looking at other posts I am getting a sense of maybe a bad coil. But not sure yet. I still don't know why my fuel pressure stays at 32 PSI, and not more. Also I am still not getting any codes. My fuel filter only has 2000 miles on it, but I am going to replace it this weekend.

Does anyone have any more thought on this? I talked to my local Ford garage and they said if there is no code then they don't know what it is.

Thanks,

P.S. My truck just turned 75,000 miles today.
