Figuring out my 51' F1

Here's a pic of the dash. Can someone tell me the story behind the "Super". Maybe I'm just bad at searching on the computer, but I can't find anything.

1. I think it’s off something else, the PO stuck it there.
2. Some kind of hot water heater, looks like defroster hose vents on the top, its not a magic air.
3. They are really not that heavy, three friends with strong backs and weak minds.

The "super" is previous owner installed. Non-stock. That's why you couldn't find any reference to it. Could be from a Buick.

Your center picture is your heater box, with defroster ducts on top.

It's not hard to remove the bed and cab. It's just bolts to remove, and then 'lift, and separate' as Jane Russell used to say. ;p

Get about 4 friends to stop by after you get everything unhooked. There is a pretty good write-up in the Dennis Carpenter catalog on how to replace the cab mounting pads and bushings in the rear swing-arms. Here's the link...it is a big .pdf file, so depending on your internet connection speed, it could take a couple of minutes to load.

The bed is easier and lighter than the cab, but you can use the same friends to help you lift that off as well.

I used my engine hoist with a wooden beam lashed to the top the arm. Lifted it up and rolled it out of the way. I also built a cab rotissiere with wheels that is great. Cab rotates 360 degrees and onle cost $100.
