Lug STUD size

Anybody know off hand what size the studs are on our trucks? I got a set of second hand wheels and tires that use extra long lug nuts and they don't fit the studs on my truck. The lug nuts say 14x1.5, I'm guessing the truck has some other size?

the lug nuts you have are metric, you need standard. 9/16. my guess is the guy you got the nuts from had wheel spacers. those are 90% of the time metric studs.

Thats what I figured. The wheels were on a Chevy 2500 so I figured they would have been the same size studs but apparently not. Oh well. Thanks for the quick replies.

Can anyone explain to me why in the world the lug studs on the wheels on these trucks are sooooo llooooooonnnnngg? The studs in the back on my truck are like 2.5" long AFTER the wheel is mounted. Any reason I shouldn't use the cutoff tool to shorten them up to a more reasonable length? I ordered some lug nuts for my new (to me) wheels today but I'd like to shorten up the studs while I am at it, if possible.

1 stud, all models. The studs are longee for the drw and for the 4x4,models since the studs have to go through the disc and through the hubs.

That's what I figured. Any reason not to shorten them up a little?
