A/C Kit?

Hi, i have a 66 f250 and i need to put a/c in it. live in california and its my ddaily driver. im a student so im looking for a relatively cheap A/C kit with everything included. the truck has never had A/C before. any help would be appreciated. i found a kit on Ford Truck Underdash A/C System - Ford AC Kits for Trucks but was hoping for cheaper? or is that the cheapest i should go figuring on 110 plus temp? is it any good?
Thanks in advance

Did Ford offer factory air conditioning on our trucks? If so, what did they look like? Similar to units that came in Mustangs?

I know Ford did put AC in a lot of vehicles, but the dealer would do most AC installs back then. AC was an expensive option, and it was an easy enough after thought.

I have a Ford factory Mustang unit that I have thought about using, but it is an eye sore. I would love a nice hidden system to round out my build in a few years.

ok, well i ordered from Nostalgic Air Parts i got there universal ford truck kit fo the 66, there website said 48 hour shipping! cool right? no, a week later i called to get a tracking number and they said it would ship in a week, upset, i called at the end of that week, (today) they told me its not going to ship till next week, seriously? they also told me that they do not sell a bracket to let the compressor bolt on to a 352 engine,,, great. want a way to spend 750 bucks and wait for an incomplete kit for 3 weeks, order from them, if not go somewhere else...

That is sad that a company wants treat poeple like there the only ones that have the parts needed so they think they have you over a barrel! I got my system from ''Vintage
Auto Air! you could probably get the compressor bracket from them, as they sell a complete kit for 65/66 ford pickups?

Their website doesn't show a kit for 65/66 ford pickups. Is it unlisted?

They do list a compressor bracket for FE engines. I personally like the classic look of their Mark IV underdash unit.

The compressor bracket used on 1965/66 F100/250 352's with dealer installed A/C (all that was available) will be the same/similar to what 1963/71 Ford Passenger Car 352/390's used...since all used the same York compressor.

There's a local wrecking yard here in LA LA Land that bought 100's of 1963/64 Galaxie 'Select-Aire' A/C kits from the Long Beach assembly plant when it closed.

What's remaining of these kits today is a few "mount and drive" kits (includes compressor bracket). Everything else was either tossed out or sold off.
