Hood Spear Measurements

Can anyone give me the measurements for the hood spears? I am preparing the hood for paint and want to pre-drill the holes.

Yes, I need two measurements. I need the distance from the back edge of the hood to the first hole and the distance from the bottom for the first hole.

Ok here you go. If the 250 spears are the same. These will be your measurements.

From the back of the hood to the first hole I have 6 11/16 and it is 2 1/4 up from the lower lip on the hood.

The second hole in from the back of the hood is 14 1/8 and is 2 1/8 up from the bottom lip of the hood.

The last hole out is 21 5/16 from back of the hood and 2 up from the lower hood lip. All holes appear to be 1/4 in in diameter. Again these are for a F250 hood spear if the 100s are the same then you are good to go.

Thanks Buzz, That's what I needed, i think. Bill asked about the year of the truck. Its a 61 unibody. However, I think the the measurements you gave me are correct.

The hood spears are the same 1961/62, and are all the same length regardless if for an F100 or F1100. These spears were not used after 1962.
