i recently got a hood from a salvage yard and it came with hinges. looks great. so i get it home and put it in the garage and im looking at the hinges that were on the truck and they're different. Ok.. The hinges that were on the truck mount on the outside of the inner fenders and the springs facing out (everytime i closed the hood the springs would hit the edge of the hood). The hinges that i got with the "new" hood seem to mount on the inside of the inner fenders (spring facing the motor opposite of the others), no big deal but on my inner fenders there is no where to mount on the inside.

So my question is which hinges are correct? Do i have 73-79 inner fenders on my truck? or maybe the hinges on the "new" hood are from a 73-79?

Oh my truck is 1970, Also where the hinges mount that are on the truck right now, something doesnt look right, where they bolt from the outside to the inside the metals all crushed from the nut and washer. Please help! haha. hope this makes sense. thanks guys!

 

My truck is a 69 and the hinges mount on the inside of the inner fender. So if there was a change in hinges between 69 and 70 you might have the older style hood???

Now that it's roiling in my mind I am not sure if my hinges are on the outside of the inner fender or inside of inner fender. I'll check when I go home in the morning.
