First id like to say what a great fourm!

Well to the point, i own a few restauants in north Texas and can get as much WVO as i need. With that being said,,,,whats the best plan for burnning some of this in my F-250 SD "06" 6.0 ?
I drive about 160 miles per day going from place to place all HWY.

Welcome to FTE and the Bio forum! I can't be of much help because I make biodiesel. Jason should find this thread, and he is "the bomb" with burning WVO. I'm sure he will be along shortly!

 

I can't speak to how well a truck that new will handle WVO, but I can tell you that filtration of the oil is critical in any case. I recommend looking into a centrifuge -- Dieselcraft sells inexpensive ones, or you can spend several thousand on a really nice one with a PLC and variable speed motor. Most house filter solutions for WVO are insufficient to get the particle size low enough to not harm injectors and injection pump, especially on the newer high-pressure systems.

Also, heating the oil to the proper temperature before trying to burn it is essential to not getting carbon buildup. Many companies such as GreaseCar and Frybrid sell complete conversion kits that will give you everything you need to modify your truck to burn WVO. There's lots of good information out there. You will probably find that using WVO (as opposed to converting it to biodiesel) is a controversial topic; there are lots of people who will try to discourage you. But remember it's your truck and you can do what you want!

Ditto on the filtration. I use a Dieselcraft centrifuge, but there are other options as well.

With the mileage you are driving, you would get your investment back in no time.

 

After lots of searching, I found a pretty nice centrifuge for not a bad price.

They also sell parts to build your own if you want.
