It,s a bit of a long story but here goes. Me and my son restored the truck after it had sat for about three years. We have replaced both gas tanks because of rust along with the tanks pumps, High pressure inline fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator and cleaned and rebuilt the injectors with new seals and pintals. All has been well until a couple of weeks ago when the truck left my son stranded at school. He said it lost power and just quit. Used starter fluid to rule out ignition problems and it fired right up till it burned the fluid out. When turning the key I could hear the high pressure and tank pumps spool up for a second or two but the high press pump sounded rough so I thought that may be the issue. Replaced the High press pump on the spot and the truck started right up and drove it home. Couple of days later after switching from the back to the front tank it lost power and shut down again. I removed the battery cable while messing around with trying to figure what the problem was. After replacing the battery cable it started and ran fine. Two weeks later same problem. This time I had to tow it back to the house. It’s not an ignition problem. The injectors are working fine. But when I hold the schrader valve open on the fuel rail while turning the engine over no fuel sprays out so apparently I am not getting any fuel pressure. Again the tanks pumps are running, the Inline high pressure pump is running when I turn the key on. I replaced the fuel filter (maybe clogged) and the fuel pressure regulator thinking it may be bad. Still no fuel pressure. Wondering if anyone has seen this before or have any idea what the problem may be. I’m a bit baffled. Could it be a computer problem, a plugged fuel line? Could it be the dual function reservoir acting up? I’m out of town right now but when I get back I plan on pulling the codes to see if anything comes up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Just a thought, but it sounds as if you've replaced or checked everything but the fuel lines themselves.....something could have gotten in there while you were making the repairs or possibly sucked off the bottom of the tank. If so you could test it out fairly easy by disconnecting at each connection one by one until you get to the one where you don't get fuel. Have someone turn the key on while you hold a container to catch any fuel that may come out. And wear safety glasses! I had gasoline splash in my eyes today while removing a fuel tank and it hurts like hell. This will at least tell you which vicinity of the fuel system you should be concentrating on.

FYI fuel system blockages do occur! I've been having a similar problem with my F-100. Replaced, the fuel pump and filter and was able to get it home, but still having issues. I finally decided to pull my gas tank this afternoon and you wouldn't believe what I found......

No kidding...all of that was in my gas tank....

Check your connectors and the relays for the ecm, and fuel pump relays.

First of all for jrmurphy77 what the crap is all that crap that was in yur tank!?
I checked the tank pumps individually by having someone turn the key while I put a stethoscope on the tank. I check the front and back tank. Did the same with the high pressure inline pump also.
