Muddin'

I live in the NW suburbs, but moved back here after 20+ years. As of now, I have no idea where to go but I'd be interested too.

Ya I know I used to go to a place in Elgin off of Randel Rd. by the Walmart but it is owned by the city now. My son and I are doing the 4-Wheeler thing now but we have to travle to Orgon Il. or to one of the parks I sent to you. Between all the building going on and the tree huggers there aren't many areas left any more.

Muddin'

Out here in the south west suburbs, we used to go Trailin' - Muddin' along the Cal - Sag Channel. Now that is all gone and you'll get arrested for it.

That is why my son and I got into 4-wheelers they are smaller but not that much cheaper $4000 for his z250 and my Eiger was $4800 but they are a blast! And because it is something I do with my son my wife dosen't complain as much when I spend money on them.

The best park I know of is the Badlands in Attica IN, I live in Champaign IL and its about 60-90 mins from me. Trucks, Jeeps, Quads anything goes! I believe ther's a campground nearby and it something like $10-15 for the day. It is well worth the drive! Its an old gravel pit with 720 acres (a little over a square mile) of area to ride, sand dunes, creeks, and some good old sticky bottom ground mud holes. Bring a few buddies (or at least a winch)...if you don't get stuck you ain't tryin!

Hi Dogsluvtrux, finally somebody from central Illinois. Welcome to FTE and the Illinois chapter. And it may be a little bit of a drive from Chicago but I second Badlands as a great place to go offroading.

Badlands in Indiana is not a bad drive from here in central illinois (around Peoria). YOu can take your four wheelers with ya too.
I would hate to live in Chicago and hate myself just for being someone from Chicago. Sorry if I offend but I had some bad impressions from yall in Chicago.

Oregon Illinois area

In the Oregon Illinois area is an off road park type of place on Route 64. Not sure if it's for quad runners and dirt bikes alone or they allow trucks there too.

I don't know if it is legal or not, but out in Lombard (about 20 minutes west of Chicago) there is a great area near North Ave (Rt. 64) and Main Street Lombard. I just buried my 33's there on Sunday. To get there, go west on North Ave. to Main Street and turn right. Take the first right and take to the last street and turn left. You will go about a half block and see a fenced in area for a big antenna or something. Pull in that driveway, but follow the tracks on the left. ENJOY!!!
