My '96 cruise control is working intermittent. I have looked through the online manuals posted by members and it appears the 7.3 cruise is controlled by the PCM. Am I reading correctly? Can it be fixed easily?

Look into ^^this switch^^ first, your truck may have a recall.
It's located on the end of the master cylinder.

What exactly is it doing? if it's turning off when you use the turn signal then check your brake lights. If the buttons don't work sometimes then that is common to. I've had to replace the right ones twice in mine already.

 

Most times lately it doesn't work when you hit the buttons, then out of the blue it works. Several years ago it was knocking off when I hit the turn signal but it was taken care of when I redid my 7 way trailer plug. The Vin # says it's a recall, so I'm going in, soon as I find an honest dealership.
