Injector - Miss Fire

So I just got back from towing a skid steer to Joplin, MO from Rock Hill, SC. I left Monday last week and got home Sunday night late. Anyways, a couple nights prior to leaving, I put in a new injector from Thoroughbred Diesel. I ran a cylinder contribution test which said #8 was missing - therefore I replaced it. When I opened the box with the new injector, the copper washer on the tip was loose, so I tried to put it back on the best I could and put the injector in. I ran a couple of days before leaving for Joplin and she ran the best she has ever. No miss, best performance, great millage.

When I hit Nashville area on the way home, I noticed that I had a miss again. Now that I am home, I ran the contribution test again and still #8 is missing. I pulled #8 and have a blow by in the 1st and 2nd o-ring above the copper washer. I called Thoroughbred and they want me to send them the injector which means I will be dead in the water without a truck till they can get it back to me. Should I just go get a new o-ring kit from Ford that has the copper washer? Opinions???

Go get a new washer and oring kit and try it. Call them and see if they still have the core. Possibly send it back till they can figure out yours.

The stealership wants about $20 for one set of o-rings. Good grief... Thinking about getting them this afternoon possibly.

aight...so I pulled the injector and no crack in the cup. Put new o-rings on her and wammo, she is running fine on that cylinder. I ran the cylinder contribution test and #4 and #6 are faulting/missing. ehh. The one I was having issues with was #8. I got tired of looking at her last night - but I will later this evening look at the connections for the wire harness, VC and UVCH to make sure no burnt connections.

Other than that, I did notice that it was throwing a CPS code. I have the black CPS and don't remember if this should be grey or the black one. The black one I am running on her is about a year old and is BWD brand from Advance Auto.

Just kinda strange that miss fire on #8 is cleared up but miss on #4 and #6 came as a result.

Any advise on the CPS (Grey/Black)?

Can't help on the misfire but I hear the Black CPS are the better ones.
