I sure messed up.

I order some Dick cepek wheels today and some tires. I've been pining over them for awhile now and I need some new tires. So at the dealership today I order the wheels and told the guy I wanted some A/T tires. So he suggested a nitto dura grappler. Well in the same rag that I been looking at the wheels in they did a review of the nitto tires. Just noe looking thru the rag I see they are talking about the terra grappler they don't even mention the dura. I go on line and find out its a highway tire. I knew I shoulda stuck w/ liberators.

I'm not a big fan of Nitto's in general. You simply pay too much for them. If you're stuck keeping them, I hope you don't need to rely on them in snow.Thats where they really suck. Otherwise they're fine.

I am impressed with my Dura's, excellent in the rain, surprising grip in the snow. However the tread life is terrible, I might get 40,000 out of them. I will be looking at the Cooper AT-3 or the Michelin LTX AT 2.

I was leaning toward to the michelin, he didn't have a pic. Of the dura. I don't have an issue w/ snow. I do how ever have to go thru some mud, cow poo, loose rocks etc "A/T". Hence I asked for A/T.
I could probally get out of em cause I did ask for an A/T tire. I'm not going to do that though. Its my fault I know better than to pull the tigger on something I dunno anything about. I'll wear em out then go back to my libs.

I'd back out. Get what you want. It's not going to hurt them to return the tires...

I know whatcha saying I just can't let them carry the burden. I wish it was the terras that I thought it was. You better believe I won't ever ordersomething again without knowing everthing about it. This is why I hate ordering things.

Thats funny, I've never had a set of tires last me as long as my duras! I do agree with you that they are really good in the snow though, not sure what the other fella is talking about.

I think the wear has to do with the weight of the truck, it weighs 9540 lbs with my normal tools, lately I have been closer to 10,000 lbs. In fact I went to the scrap yard on Monday and when I left I weighed 10,120 lbs. I think most tires will wear faster when they are close to their max weight limit. We will see how my next set wears.

There isn't a burden for them, trust me. If I order tires and a customer doesn't show up, I return them. No harm, no foul. It's no big deal for them.

Tires arent a cheap purchase man, if you dont like them have them send them back. I have Terras(i bought them used to try) and I like them but i dont do a lot of off roading with the truck but i have taken it out "a couple" of times heehee

I've worked for the largest wholesale tire distributor (ATD) for more than 10 years. Wholesale tire distributors allow for returns such as this with no issue. I would not purchase the tires if they are not what you wanted.

There's a 1st for everything. I called the dealership and canceled the Duras. They gonna get me the terras. I reckon I'll try them then if I question the service I'll try the trail grapplers.

I'm talking about the wonderful time I had towing my snowmobile trailer with my friends truck on these tires. I have taken the trip a dozen times or so and never struggled so much to get traction before. Bear in mind this is on a seasonal/unplowed road where there's always 10+ inches of snow. I've gor BFG AT's on mine that do a much better job with all the white stuff. To each his own...

Ah yeah, I am on ice with generally not a lot of loose snow. They won't be any good when the treads fill up with snow then you're just runnin slicks in the slick!
