Bad cam or lifters?

I was driving my 390 on a long trip and it started to make a clicking noise. Was hoping it was an exhuast leak but nope it sounds like the lifters are bleeding off. It doesnt make any noise at idle and clicks when driving down the road. More when it warms up. Is there a way i can check to make sure its the lifter not the cam.
