So FINALLY after getting off track with my motor build due to priorities I'm back!! Dropped my rotational assemblly off to be balanced this morning. Supposed to be done in 2 days. So hopefully I'll have my short block assembled by next week.

I'm toying with the idea of main studs. What kind of powwer levels should they be used on? What would be the maximum power level I should trust the stock main bolts too?

Ok so short block is done. Main studs installed and everything is balanced. Custom Cometic head gaskets on the way. GTP38r and bellowed up pipes here. Comp 910springs, shims, and head studs on the way from Clay.
Going to tear into my heads tomorrow and hopefully do some port work before they go to the machine shop. All that is really left is HPOP, Injectors/cups, blank pedistal and she will be done.
I am still on the fence about injector size, kinda leaning towards 238/30's

Yea I have thought that as well. I have been doing alot of searching on injectors and I can't tell you how many times I have changed my mind. With that kind of money I don't want to have any regrets. I am still 3-4 weeks out from ordering injectors anyways. So I am open to all opinions.

A 238/30 is too big, but doesn't mean it won't perform well.

I had 250/100's with my GTP38R and did 481 hp.. Then I swapped out the 38R for a GT42 with no other modifcations and did 570 HP. EGT's would get warm with the 38R, with a GT42 it was much better.

How much HP do you want? Robin on here has 38r, 200/80 and got 480 hp. Thats rwhp. I would say unless its a drag strip truck thats all I would want.

250/100's for me. Your tunes can be tamed for the 38R. If you decide to go a bigger turbo you will have the sticks to do it.

HP Im shooting for the 450-500 range. It is going to be a daily driver that at the time doesn't tow much anymore but that will be changing once this project is complete. I understand about the tuning can turn down the injectors but not knowing are there any downfalls to that?

Looking at these two setups what are the pro's and con's?? I see 2 different injector sizes with the same outcome. Are they going to have the same characteristics, or are they going to perform completely different?
