You don't need to worry about the injector firing order. On Ford trucks of this vintage the injectors are wired exactly the same way for both the 5.0 and 5.8 motors.. which have different firing orders of course, so in the end it doesn't impact engine operation.
Hi Conanski, thanks for the responses. I'll take your word for it, since you indicate others have been successful without swapping injector wiring on the batch-fired engines. I suppose it would make more sense to me if the firing order swapped cylinders that were in the same "batch" of injectors, but that is not the case and what initially spawned my question. It seems that 4 of the cylinders will now be fed from a "batch" of injectors firing opposite of what was factory-intended. But hey, if the 5.8 is wired exactly the same way, then it must just not matter much. And yes, I fully understand that this does not apply to sequentially-injected engines.
