Bill... I'm trying to find the part number to valve cover stud bolts on a 1999-2001 7.3L.

When I go to my illustration for 6582, I see neither bolts nor studs called out. In fact, when I look at the valve cover illustrations for ANY engine, I fail to find where the valve cover bolts are called out. This basically means that I'm operating way out of my depth as far as how to look up parts.

Improvising with whatever might be found at a hardware store is more difficult with valve cover stud bolts, because they are neither bolts, nor studs, but a combination of both, and are hard to find anywhere. I'm not even sure I'm using the correct descriptive word for an effective online search.

In the case of the 7.3L, there are two valve cover "stud bolts" that are used on the driver's side valve cover to attach bracket 6K854 (Section 67.1, Pg 3, Illus P-34338).

There are also two more stud bolts that are used on the passenger side valve cover to support the heater two hose clips 18 D 331 (Sec 184, Pg 28, Illus P-34520), but could also have something do with supporting whatever 30592-R1 combined with 9647 is, which was unclear to me (Sec 62, Pg 34, Illus P-37772). Again, none of these part numbers describe stud bolts themselves, which are not illustrated anywhere that I can find.

I don't know if the stud bolts between the left hand and right hand valve covers are the same, but I'd love the part number for both styles, if different. As of now, I can't find a part number for either side.

I'm looking to replace a few valve cover bolts with stud bolts to facilitate mounting an additional custom accessory bracket on the engine cleanly. Your help in locating a part number for the valve cover stud bolts would be greatly appreciated!

Application: 2000 F-550 7.3L

Thanks!

Bill, my illustrations are all dated 1999 and 2000. I see yours has a "FINAL ISSUE" dated in 1994, but in other posts and sig, you've mentioned that you have information up to and through 2001.

In your illustration above, I can see valve cover bolt 58617-S2, but that isn't a stud bolt... it just looks like a regular valve cover screw without any threaded extension above the head that would permit other things to also be attached at the same time on the same stud. Also, isn't the 7.3L in your illustration for the older IDI, instead of the turbocharged Powerstroke? I have the turbocharged Powerstroke (built November, 1999).

The specific answer to your question is FCS 7753-01-LD dated December 2000.

1990/2001 Ford Truck Parts Catalog is on microfiche, so I cannot post pics from it.

F80 = F800 (gas).

F = 391 4V FT engine.

U = Louisville KY Assembly Plant.

765663 = 1966.

Help with a P35

Bill
Can you please decode this one and give me some standards? P35AL754434. The only tag is from Grumman Olsen. It has a freshly rebuilt and hopped up 240ci and what looks like a Dana 70 rear. It has a solid front axle that I'm hoping someone can tell me how to upgrade to disc brakes. It also has a 3 speed manual that's gear are so far apart it almost impossible to drive on the freeway. Looking to upgrade the trans to an auto with overdrive or manual with overdrive. Also looking to see what my options are for my manual steering gear box that's worn and sloppy. It has the long shaft that goes to the steering wheel making difficult to service.
Thanks so much!

2000 F650 transmission ID

3FDWF65HXYMA15135
TR=K

Someone near me is parting this truck and I was wondering which motor and transmission were fitted.

I'm pretty sure it's a CAT 3112 motor but no clue about transmission.

Y = This is a 2000, but I cannot access my parts catalog at this time.

H is the engine code, call a dealer and ask them what it is.

It can't be a CAT 3112 motor, because Ford never installed a CAT 3112 motor in any vehicle in any market in any year. I don't even think CAT has ever made a 2 cylinder engine to power an on road highway vehicle. The last digit in CAT motor numerology designates the number of cylinders. In short, the 3112 doesn't exist.

However, letter code H designates a CAT 3126B motor, which is a 7.2L inline 6 cylinder engine (hence, the "6" as the 4th digit of the motor model number). Ford installed plenty of CAT 3126B motors in F-650s, which is what the F65 means in your VIN... more specifically a two wheel drive regular cab.

The 3126B motor was available in the F-650/750 in five different ratings, ranging from 190HP/520TQ, up to 250HP/600TQ.

As a general rule, the F-650/750 class of medium duty trucks are far more customizable as far as drivetrain is concerned than the lighter duty trucks. Therefore, there are many transmission options available... five different manual transmissions, and six different automatic transmissions.

Based on the W in your vin, I'm assuming the truck has air brakes, but is still under 26,000 lbs GVWR (Class 6 designation). Therefore, of the 11 transmissions available, a couple of those transmission options were limited to the F-750 (Vin Code X) at 33,000 lbs GVWR. Still, it would be help others help you if you at least identified if the truck is automatic or manual. If manual, is it a 5 speed, 6 speed, or 7 speed? If automatic, is it a 4 speed, 5 speed, or 6 speed?

Reflector

Hello All, I'm looking for the amber reflectors mounted on the lower front corners of the hood of my 69 N850. The number on the lens is SAE-A67-ATK, I saw D.C. Has a repop amber reflector C8TZ-13380-C, Will this work? I have the original ones that were on the truck but they are damaged and would like to replace them.
Thanks for any input Bill
