1980 (1957/80) trucks have an 11 digit VIN, does not contain GVWR info. 1957/79: GVW stamped by itself on 3rd line of Rating/Warranty Plate. 1980 uses a one year only paper label, should have the GVWR printed on it.

11 digit VIN: Series code (1st 3 digits) - Engine code (4th digit) - Assembly Plant code (5th digit). Last 6 digits is the Serial Number, the Numerical Sequence of Assembly, decodes to the year.

1981 thru today trucks have 17 digit VIN's that contain much more info, as you can see in my decode.

Hey Bill, OK looked at the 80' F700, ah too much Rot/Cheese and the hackers got there Hands on it !!
But on the way home we stopped at a truck we had seen last week, Got a hold of the owner, got to drive it, its a 82 or 83 F700 370 4V 23,100 GVW in nice shape Vin #
1FDNF70HXDVA18058 please if you can do your thing with that vin #, thanks,,Mark

PS this truck still also has the Hand manual E-Brake on the left side of the Cab that works good, Not the Power Hydraulic push button setup that I have heard horror stories about,, simpler is better in my Book !!

i have a 1979 f600 4x4 with a 370 4v forged steel crankshaft and i am trying to find what is known as the "center member" or pto pulley that bolts to the vibration dampner to allow a pto shaft to couple to the crank. ford part # in 1980 was 6312. my understanding is it has been discontinued for 10+ yrs. can you help locate? if so please e-mail me at wkmcaregivers@yahoo.com. thank you

Hello Bill

I haven't been on here in a while, a lot going on. What happened to ford truck enthusiasts? Looks like things changed a little. I don't know that I have been getting your posts in my e-mail in box for a little bit now.
I hope that all is well with you. By the way, a quick question: I have a 75 F250 Highboy. Will a rear sliding glass window work on trucks from my year through "97"? Thanks

Shane

If you need parts, obsolete or not, I can look up the numbers, then search for them on two online websites to see if anyone has them. Then will post the part numbers, sources that have them.

If the parts are still available, I will list the MSRP and the FTE member discount price offered by sponsor PARTSGUYED.COM (Ed Olson, parts manager of Horizon Ford in Seattle WA).

I've been doing this jazz on FTE since 11/04/2006. And, btw: One of the parts locator sites is only accessible to FoMoCo Dealers.

This VIN decoder: https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/vin-decoder/ lists your truck as 26,001 - 33,000 lbs. GVW

NumberDummy,
I'm looking for the part number and availibility of a 33 gallon fuel tank for a 1978 Bronco. So it would be a tank without the emissions stuff.

f700 brake proportioning valve

Hi ND,
I hope you may be able to help me locate a part. I have a 1979 f700 that is in need of a rear brake proportioning valve. This truck does not have air brakes. If you need more info to find the part just let me know. The old one cracked and the repair shop I went to tried to weld it...poorly...need I say that didn't work AT ALL. Thanks!
