who what where? 85 F600 details
i am new to this, i should have replied here, before i posted a thread, but im learning. anyways im changing engines in an 85 f600. i have no info im just winging it so far, and i need lots of parts and they can be hard to get. like a radiator......i will not do the job without a new radiator. no reason to do it without solving the problems that lead to the last engines failures. anyways, VIN decoder was a bust, (1FDNF60H0FVA18194) 11-84 PRODUCTION DATE, gasoline 370 automatic F600. putting the engine out of an older 80 ish F600 louisville cab, with manual trans, praying that the flex and flywheel will exchange and the bell housings and the belt stuff up front.......(insert prayer smiley)
please tell me if im headed for a train wreck before we drop a grand or close to on a new radiator...
thanks
dennis

Any recommendations on where to buy replacement seatbelt/tensioner for my 89 f250? I tried the local Ford dealer, Napa, Advance and the local junkyards. I can't find them anywhere. Is there a recommended website on where to order a replacement?
Thanks

Genuine Ford = obsolete, but may be available NOS

I have every Ford Truck Parts Catalog from 1928 thru 2001, so I can decode all the VIN info, codes from the Rating/Warranty Plates and the Certification Label first used in 1981.
If you need parts, obsolete or not, I can look up the numbers, then search for them on two online websites to see if anyone has them. Then will post the part numbers, sources that have them.
If the parts are still available, I will list the MSRP and the FTE member discount price offered by sponsor PARTSGUYED.COM (Ed Olson, parts manager of Horizon Ford in Seattle WA).
I've been doing this jazz on FTE since 11/04/2006. And, btw: One of the parts locator sites is only accessible to FoMoCo Dealers.

I'm looking for some help with brake system, for some reason if the park brake is engaged the brake pedal feels normal, with the park brake off the brake pedal will go to the floor. Any information on the brake system of the truck would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Headscratcher
Ignition switch for a 1974 f600
If I read the parts manual correctly I came up with DOTZ-11572 A.. cross ref to SW944 six blade terminal.. which is the "new" one I picked up
Parts manual shows the one on the right.... the one on the right is the new one... which is wrong,, the one on the left is oem....
This is the original one.. note the round style.. the pins at 3 and 5 o'clock are not used..
This is the OEM wiring harness plug.. note that it does not fit the new style non round one.. the pin configuration is wrong and the plug wont fit into the non round style switch
As you can see while the OEM round style is 7 pin only 5 are used.. as depicted by the OEM plug. I dont have the other half of the switch as it was broken and I tossed it a year ago when I began the restoration. I dont see ANY five pin ford ignition switches anywhere
Im being told to rewire the truck...for the non round 6 pin style
Ive been thru the books and cannot find a ford ignition switch plug that looks like the oem one
Im stumped and I hate to cut the OEM harness and try to figure out the other plug stuff if I dont have to.. but Im stumped.. and even my good commercial parts guy doesnt know what to say
What say you guru?
