mine were acting goofy too. I powerwashed the hinges good and sprayed a little WD40 and they worked better, but I still hear mine retracting slow or well after the time it should be retracting.
I love them, they're cool as all hell, but when they **** the bed out of warranty, they're probably just going to come off altogether. I love all these gadgets on my limited, but I'm going to start getting pissed when they all crap out on me.
I'd actually check with the dealer for any outstanding TSB's.
My sister had one with several issues:
- Running boards either not retracting at all, or even not coming out, or coming out late (already stepping to the pavement and the board clips your shin)...
- Outside mirrors that tilt for backup staying tilted, or not tilting.
- Sunroof came open one day while she was going through the car wash... That one was especially frustrating for her - hilarious to me!
