Northern Utah Dealerships

Hi, new 06 6.0 owner here. I am studying fast to learn all I can about these diesels. I have always owned older gas trucks that I can fix myself, but since this truck is under warranty for a few more months, I was wondering if anyone knew of a RELIABLE dealership in the northern utah area? Ed Kenley is most convinient, but Ogden and Bountiful aren't out of reach. Any of you guys have experiences with these dealerships or can give me info on any around the area? Thanks.

Yep. I've had experiences with all of them... mostly positive too
If you are closest to Ed Kenley, go there and see Chris in the service dept- Tell him that I sent you and you'll be treated well. If you have any further questions, join us in the Utah Chapter... scroll down

When I bought my truck I made the dealer fix a few items before I would take out. Ed Kenley did all the work. I had to return it twice for random things they did not finish. Took them 15 days because they were so busy. But it was solid work. The techs were just in a hurry.

utahtom, the 06 I just got has an edge evolution. will Chris look at it with that in there, or should I pull it? I don't use it since I've owned and he used for about 10K miles using the mileage and tow mode. I wanted the cooling system checked out, and to find out if heads had ever been done. Do I just refer to you as utahtom? Thanks a ton! Got this truck and this forum isn't giving me too much piece of mind. Thanks!

I've been taking my trucks into Ed Kenley since 2000. Chris has been my service advisor and always been very informative for me. On my 7.3L and both of my 6.0L they did a lot of work over the years. Fortunately they haven't done any more than oil changes on 2011.

They do a lot of business and you usually have to call and schedule an appointment.

They installed my Superchip back in 2000 and never said anything about the Edge Evolution in my 2006. But then the work I had them do was never subject to the type of damage that comes from abusing the truck. I never turned up the Edge Evolution. It was more of display for the EGT and a warning if I ever pushed the temps while towing. I think as long as you are honest and up front about what caused your problems, They will be fair about what the warranty will cover. I wouldn't worry about disconnecting the edge before your visit. Just make sure the truck is in it's stock program.

wow I didnt know that any dealer would put a programmer on

Its against the law to put a programmer on a polution controlled vehicle

supposed to only be able to do it for off road vehicles only

If it is no longer under warranty, don't worry about the Edge- And tell him the Tow Boss sent you!

Went to ed kenley. They did me good except their fix for my coolant loss was new overflow bottle. Figured it wouldn't do anything and I was right. Towed trailer this weekend and lost 3 gal on trip to Logan. Guessing I have a gasket issue. Taking it in tomorrow. Luckily still under warranty.

Side note for locals...avoid elite performance. They do horrible work and when I tried to call him on it he wouldn't back up his work.
