Something about your truck hits the spot for me man. I love those year trucks in an off-white or grayish color like that, think it looks amazing. Height is perfect.......wow, love that truck.

 

yeah, I know I posted before, I really love the truck...but the more I gaze at it the more I think its pullin out in the front...member that stang term..."pulling out?"...where the front lifts when the engine pulls with accelleration...don't hammer me, but maybe bring the front down a hair...there's just not enough rake to say..."I'm bad, and I know it,"...boy I may get thrown off this thread for that...opps......luv ya man...too cool of a truck...

Nice,nice,nice, it will look great in that yellow. I sanded all day, thanks, this gives me the incouagement i need to keep on sanding so i can shoot the rest of my cab in epoxy sun or tues. I like your stance looks good.

 

Just got back from culvers ice cream cruise in with the mopar club. Great fun, lots of stares and smiles from passersby. Jag ifs is great. People just seem to approach us instead the muscle cars. Every has had an old truck and they just connect with it. Met an older couple tonight that have a 1951 F1 they want to restore. We're going to get together and lend a hand. The model A club came up to us and invited us to their next event. You don't get that driving a Honda!

Congratulations Rusty the truck looks great! I too really like the stance. I had not considered the TCI setup, but perhaps I should. It brings the truck with the Jag very close to level. You started just a little bit before me but are finishing way ahead of me. I had another antique car sneak in and delay my efforts. Good for you for hanging in there. Incidentally, Willard was originally Chrome Yellow.

 

Hey Rusty did you use any spacers under the a arms or just rubber mount to frame. The ride height is perfect you sure have one sweet F1 . Do you have any pic of the front end install? Thanks George

Hi Rusty, I am ready for an update! Hows the JAG IFS?
I want to know a measurement from the bottom of your frame (front end) to the concrete floor. I am just comparing. I have not had any F1 fenders on the front yet, still waiting for them....over a year now...

I also wanted to comment on my JAG Ifs...It seems REALLY stiff right now.
motor/tranny in place. no front clip, but me on the very front (220 lbs)
I wonder if my springs may be from an xj12, even though the ifs was from an xj6. i dunno...
I can make it move but i have to bounce on her pretty good. I know there are things to do but just adding to the JAG IFS cause.

 

Jeff, distance from the floor to the bottom of the frame is 9 3/4". George, I have one washer between the lower spring mount and the A arm. I also removed the two plastic spring spacers above and below the spring when I rebuilt it. I started with four washers but removed three of them to help a tire rubbing problem. I fixed the problem by installing slightly smaller tires....I will probably remove the last washer as the ride is pretty soft, but that's for when I'm really bored.
During assembly, I thought the front end was really stiff. Same thing, wife and rhino son (+200lbs) jumping up and down on the frame horn, every thing installed except sheet metal, and it would barely come off the bump stops. Now there is about 1" of clearance for the bump stop. I think that there is alot of track change from full droop to ride height and what you're seeing is the tires binding on the floor. Try putting weight on it while you move it around.

LOL And I resemble that remark 200 + but thanks for the info I think I will just mount the Jag without the spacers in lower a arms.Your truck looks just right,I need to get busy and finish mine. I forgot how much work these rides are when you tear them completely down.Should have done it stages.
