You would be better off leaving the fuel system as is.

Well the advantage he claims is the better space in the valley to work there, less leaks possibility and better fuel economy? as I could unterstand. I really dont know, but I felt tempted to make a try, but not without your opinions. I also have my doubts about the fuel filter and when to change it, etc.

My opinion, he said it takes 10 min. now to remove and replace ipr and easier to get to hpop. It takes what, 10 more minutes to remove the fuel bowl to work on it. How many times are you going to be working in there? If it takes 2 hours to complete the swap he did, you'd need to take out the fuel bowl and put it back in 6 times to equal the time you spent. I see absolutely no reason to do it, no gains whatsoever imo. Only way I'd remove the fuel bowl is for elec. fuel.

Would the fuel filters for this kind of setup be less expensive than the stock ones? I'm not sure I like having that much rubber fuel line running that close to my accessory drive. A shredded serpentine belt could be really bad news where all that fuel line and the filter housing are located. I suppose you could use a braided fuel line.... but so much for the tightwad appeal of the design.

I dont know if people noticed the main fault in this plan or not.

he removed the FPR spring and parts/filters.

How the hell is he keeping correct pressure in the fuel system now?

He's basically overworking his pump, because our system works on a return.
Now there is no way to build pressure to the heads.

Novel idea, but It only takes a few mins to get that thing out, so... Why waste your time with this? The stock filter flows just fine.

The FPR assembly is still there, just not the strainer on the bottom of the FPR housing.

Thanks for the rep guys. Only thing I might add is I may consider this IF my fuel bowl was in real bad shape and needed replacement since the cost of a new fuel bowl is so high.

Edit: IF this was ever done, I'm like nate, be quite worried about the belt wiping out something. Should be mounted in a better spot than that. Which puts you back in that big open spot in the valley now..
