Not actually so, here's why:

1. The factory bedliner is very thin at about 40 to 60 mils. You get a slip resistant surface, but you don't get a "bedliner" that can take impact absorption. Aftermarket bedliners are about 125 mils.

2. The factory bedliner has a 3 year/36K warranty which is not as good as most aftermarket warranties that give you a limited lifetime warranty.

3. If you have a problem with your factory bedliner, the dealer can't fix it. It's going to LINE-X or someone else for the repair.

4. The factory bedliner is extremely hard and most things slide around on it.

5. The factory bedliner costs about the same as a aftermarket bedliner, but you are paying for less product and has a worse warranty.

6. The factory bedliner is only available in black which may or may not be what you want. Some aftermarket brands offer colors.

I have had Bedliners sprayed in trucks since the early nineties, from about every name brand company. All local monkeys trying to make a quick buck. some do good work and some don't! They have to remove the bed caps and tailgate cap on a ford. Damage can accrue to the cheap plastic parts in r and r. Then they have to sand the bed, mask and coat the surface. I have had black overspray on a white 60K king ranch truck before. I have to remove the cargo extender and replace after the liner job, as hard telling how that would go. I had black sprayed in 2 white gmc trucks in 02 and this guy did a very good job and even sprayed on the bed caps as gmc didn't have them then. But a factory job will be in a lot more controlled environment, and I am sure the bed caps, cargo extender, and tailgate steps will be added after the fact. Not have to be r and r twice. I have never had a factory ford liner but I will the next new truck as I usually order if possible. I have seen them in the SD trucks and they look ok. If they are slick and thin you can always lay in a rubber bed mat on the liner and it gives u even more protection. All bed liners can be cut and scraped if not taken care of. And u can dent the bed even with a liner. I take great care and I have 2 05 SD trucks with about 80 k on them and they still look great. I have a 08 350 and the liner still looks like new.

I have used Herculiner HCL1B8 Brush on Bed Liner Kit for my pic up truck. This comes with spray and brush. This bed liner is five times thick than other bed liner.

As somebody said, the aftermarket spray in liners are not all the same. Among the two major brands, one of them has a tacky or rougher surface and the other one is a little bit more slippery meaning that you can slide objects into the bed easier. It depends on your preference. Personally I like to be able to slide objects into the bed

I have used LINE-X for years, since 1998 I believe. Hell, I even LINE-Xed the whole inside of my hunting jeep. I have never been able to beat it. So in short, LINE-X is my vote

You can't beat the factory for bed liners now! And the factory fifth wheel prep is the cheapest and best route to go as it comes ready to haul and tow. Has a RV plug on the bumper, and in the bed. Add the factory brake controller and you are all set. Way to go Ford

Line-X is the strongest, best looking liner IMO (had numerous) g

Although I now have truck #2 with a house brand from Leonard Truck Acc.
The Leonard has a lifetime warranty too, only cost $349+tax & it held up well in my SuperDuty, however it did chip in a couple spots, just not bad enough to warrant getting it fixed. So yes I had the new F150 sprayed w/a Leonard, as Line-X is about $200 more around here & I don't intent on using the F150 hard.
