I'm really considering buying a Expedition... Here's what I'm looking at: '07-'08, 4x4, 5.4L, Tow-package, and whatever interior package is priced the best.. would like leather, but it's not a "must have"... What are the good and bad on the Expeditions. What kinda MPG's can I expect, engine longevity, any trans issues, etc... any issues the Exp's have that I need to know about..
And, what is this RCS or RSC mean on these (usually next to where is say Expedition on rear hatch".... is that a suspension system or traction control or other...
I don't know much about the Exp's and want to make a educated decision when I attempt to purchase one.. I work on everything I own, hate the stealerships..
I really wanted an Excursion, but the banks don't seem to understand their "true-value".. instead they are looking at a $$ figure someone devised.. and have no clue as to their lifespan.... anyway, I'll get off the soapbox..
15 city up to 21 fwy. Eddie Bauer is a good choice, but XLT with leather might be cheaper but harder to find. Test drive a lot. Some trannys don't shift great. Pay attention to it shifting as you come to a stop and on hills. Look at the paint closely, some have had bubbles on the hood and trunk areas. Look at the drip rails on the roof for rust and or bubbles. The 5.4L is solid and has been as perfected as it can be IMO. Drive it on the freeway and notice any steering vibration-some have reported a nibble that is hard to fix. No amount of balancing has help some.
Just a few of the items I recall as being big.
