03 Explorer rearend

I hear a noise coming from the rearend of my 2003 Explorer, 105K. How hard is it to replace the bearings? Is it hard to rebuild these rearends or should I take it in? Thanks

is it a thumping noise when pulling away from a stop? or a clicking noise at low speeds? or...none of the above?

mine has the clicking noise at low speeds, i think its the crappy Ebrake pads that were falling to crap when i changed the rotors last month

There is a whining noise and clunking noise. Had similiar noise on the front and after changing the bearings there that quit.

if it is a wheel bearing, they are disassembled and reassembled with a new bearing onto the hub with a 12 ton press. YOu can take the unit off the truck and take it to a shop to have it assembled, then you can reinstall onto the truck. If your talking about the differential unit, thats another story...... im assuming you have independant rear suspension ?
