Yeah, I've done my Cougar that way before, but I was also getting ready for paint, etc. This is gonna be a 'remove/quickly clean/install' deal.

Now I see why Ford went to serpentine belts in '88-89 on the big blocks. This is a joke . If I had kept air pumps, I'd have had five belts.

One inner fender refinished. I tried to clean them up, and they still looked pretty gross (although 'clean').

I scuffed, applied Picklex 20 (metal prep), some rattle can primer, and Rustoleum Hammertone paint. Looks pretty close to OEM, if not better, IMO.

H pipe makes it complete. I am FINALLY pleased with the exhaust. Most would probably find it too quiet, but that's what I was going for.
Hedman 1 7/8" headers
3" H pipe to 3" Super Turbo style mufflers (long case).
2.5" tails to 2.5" dynomax bullets (used as resonators).. 3" tips.

I can hear header 'ping' more than exhaust noise at the front of the truck.
