Low restriction catalytic converters, although pricey, these combined with
A good muffler, pipes and headers can provide good " seat of the pants " performance gains. It is also " ear candy ".
Well, after reading the posts in this thread I have decided that the minimal (if any) value from adding an aftermarket 'high performance' oiled air filter are just not worth the risks to my new turbo diesel. So, with less than 100 miles on it, I pulled the new filter and put back the factory filter.
That being said, I have followed the link posted earlier about filter comparisons, and it seems to me that the AC Delco filter is the best all-around filter when it comes to the widest variety of categories.
Anyone have any comments / preferences as to a brand / model?
Thanks.
Steve.

but the headers are useless on a 2012 6.7 diesel.

1. Proper maintenance
2. Adjust nut holding wheel (driving style)
3. Custom tunes (at best .5 to 1 MPG)
I really like the 'instant' MPG display.
My Jeep had something similar and I found that by adjusting my driving style I could pull an extra 2-3 MPG per gallon.
It went from 15 up to 18 in the city.
I'm hoping for similar results from the Ford.
I don't believe a intake will help a stock engine. I've tried the K&N FIPK system & got rid of it. Lots of noise with no power gains at all. Spend your money on custom tunes & a good exhaust. Stock intakes flow plenty enough for a stock engine. Plus they clean great.

Paid media hype....nothing more, nothing less. I will also state categorically that K&N to this day, honor their 1,000,000 mile warrnty with myself. Despite causing damage to the MAF on my wifes new Cougar Sport (1997), requiring 3 replacements (IIRR) within 6 weeks (literally the 1st 6 weeks we had the car) under factory warranty, documented by Ford, they refused & denied their (K&N) warranty at the highest levels of management. The filter was purchased directly from K&N also.....so no vendor was involved. Since that time, we still own the car and the MAF has never required replacement.
I typically purchase Wix or Napa Gold filters ....cost about $15 each.
