Warn premiums lock outs

So on my 97 crew cab with a Dana 60 I think I kinda maybe just a little trashed a set out premium warn lockouts I have one side that keeps kicking out of engagement I really really need this truck to stay in 4x4 when I want it it does have a locker in the d60 but I also need it to come oit of 4x4 to I'm pretty sure warn preiums are the best and I did buy this truck with them already installed so maybe they are installed righT

Warn premiums kicking out?

Thats pretty strange... I guess the spring or something inside could be damaged.

Thats what I'm thinking one spring looks a little different. Anything better than warn preiums?

the premiums have metal springs, the regular ones have plastic cup things.

Do they both have the big coil spring in them that pushed the round gear out of engagement. It goes under that gear and a single screw holds that gear on when you take the hub body off. If it doesn't look right then I think those parts are included in the warn rebuild kit. Not sure though, I've only seen pictures of them. I've never had problems with my warns.

Are you sure it's kicking out though? I have alocker in the back of my 350 and that thing tears tires up, on tight turns on pavement, it pops like crazy as it momentarily disengages. THis is the only truck I have ever owned that wears out rear tires faster than fronts. I'm just wondering if what you are feeling is the differential working. Mines a detroit locker and they are known for noise like that.

It defineatly kicks out and the screw that holds the gear in I found is missing and the hole is stripped out and 2 of the 6 bolts for the cap is broke so looks like new lockouts

Sounds like one too many Midas brake jobs. That sucks. I'd never let a mechanic touch mine.

Arkredneck, please step away from the edge of the bridge and don't jump. Please contact Warn tech/customer support. Warn hubs are many times reduilable. Don't trash the set just yet. I have contacted them for my 48 Jeep, and they sent me some very understandable directions.

Yeah. flattie is right on rebuilding them, most of them are.

But with stripped out screws, he might not be in the best of luck though buddy.

I bought new ones and the truck did way better got 142' out of 160' and placed 3rd in the modified class at the mud races all I need is boggers and I'd win. The people love the black smoke
