Why can't you just put the egr valve back in and plug it up to keep the light off ? I just did one and I am wondering if it is going to cause a problem with something else. Thanks!

 

Nope, actually its recommended to leave the EGR valve in place and plugged in so your fan will work correctly.

 

From what I've heard you're going to get a low egr flow code,unless you have a scanner that will shut the egr off.

 

I got that code with EGR and everything in place... ive never removed it.. jus tunplugge dit for a few days and plugge dit back in.. It doesnt throw a CEL light on the dash though.. just stored in PCM

 

even though your egr is plugged in your 06 will probably turn the cel on for low flow if the egr cooler is deleated

the good old P0401

if you deleate it you still need to plug the egr valve in for fan operation and you will also need the tunner to shut off the cel

the older trucks stratigy wouldnt set a hard DTC cel on for low flow

 

why cant you.. because no matter what you do the ebb will not see a change in back pressure with the egr vlave commanded open., nor will the pcm see a change in iat2.

sorry forgot to ask is the tuner option where you have to leave the tuner hooked up? Also can Ford Dealer turn the light off?

 

The tuner changes the programming in the PCM and with the correct tuner it doesn't stay hooked up as it reflashes the computer. For the dealer to turn the light off they would have to alter the programming which, by law, they are not allowed to do, thus the need for a tuner.

 

Thanks partsman and eveyone else. Got the cooling system cleaned out to it for a test drive,it turned the light on. P0401 egr flow, went online an ordered an sct Tried to get online at work to see what yall would say, but computer kept kicking me out fte. Anybody like the sct?
