Issues with Superchips flashpaq
#2
I have had that Flash paq for a few years on my 2000 f250 7.3. I am constantly changing the tune from mileage xs save to towing and then back again. I have never had any troubles. The only issue is sometimes I don't get it plugged in all the way and it tells me that it can't do the install.

You do have to do what the tuner tells you.....:
plugged in, key off...check
Model year ...check
Tune or diagnos..... check
turn key on...do NOT start....... check
in Stock.... Pro or Pull.... check
etc, etc.....
You have to follow what it says or it will tell 'you'.... 'check port'... 'not on'..... etc.
1) re-read directions
2) install correct tune (if need more help call SuperChips)
3) enjoy you SC
4) If all else fails, sell your tuner, buy a DP Tuner and give them a call and they will walk you through.
I have had several 'problems' and it has always been to 'operator error'....

I don't have one of these devices, but electronics are electronics. I assume it's battery powered. Ensure you have fresh batteries (not stale ones sitting in a drawer for 2 years), they are placed in the compartment correctly, and that the contacts are clean without corrosion. It is common for battery-powered devices to corrode in the battery compartment when stored for a long duration with the batteries in place.
If it relies on connection to the OBDII port, check the fuse for your cigarette lighter.

lots of issues with the superchip
I bought a 02 f250 with the 7.3l from a guy that had the super chip programmed in it and I've had nothing but problems! It fried my pcm, I've blown two trannys in less than 3 weeks, while babying it, had to buy new injectors, new sensors, it doesn't start unless it's been plugged in for at least 2 hours, no matter what temperature it is outside. Ether has been my best friend. It stalled on me twice and left me on the side of the road, the electric throttle has almost gotten me in multiple accidents because of the computer being messed up. Flashing everything back to stock and fixing it. Screw that! Beware!

Don't be surprised if you continue to have issues, sounds like you got one that has been rode hard and put away wet. My '02 has been running that same programmer for about 8-10 years and no issues other than I don't like how long it takes to change programs. I need to change tire size/program at least twice a year when switching from summer to winter tires and back.
P.S. next time start a new thread rather than adding to one at least five years old and not legitimately added to in two years.

So take the tuner out and run your truck with no tuner. Get the truck smoothed out to factory.
You most likely could have saved a lot of money by coming here first and talking to the people that have had 'won't start cold or after it hasn't been started for a while'.....
