Dead truck on side of road.

Need help. Truck just died like you turned the key off. Started back up, went a couple miles and died again, started ran 30 sec, start run 10 seconds a couple of times. Each time it starts, dies like you turn the key off. Motor turns fast, batterys good. CPS, fuel pump?? Any ideas?

Where is the cps? Isn't it on the front of the engine? Are there any fluids behind this sensor?

Passenger side, to the side and down a bit beside the crank pulley on the front of the engine.

Be happy, we used to have to pay $180 and now they are $20-$40.

If the sensor is original, the bolt will be VERY hard to take out. It takes a 10mm socket IIRC. The sensor pokes into the oil space but it is well above the pan oil level. Make sure to put anti-seize on the threads and dielectric grease on the connector.

Looking at the truck from the front it is going to be at about the 10 oclock position. So if you lay under with your feet sticking out it is on the right side by the crank pulley like said before. 10 mm bolt for sure. May have to use a flathead to help it come out. Rub you a little oil on the new one's o ring. Get one from Ford or IH. Don't even try a parts store brand. Good luck.
