the 11b23 flash , does it monitor injector function ?

anyone know???

trying to decide whether to get the flash at this time or not , and it seems to me injector malfunction is the biggest killer on these motors...

if this flash does monitor the injectors , it could be well worth getting ;
on the other hand , I'm getting decent fuel milege (for a 6.4) at this time , and I would hate to screw that up..........

we had that ability from the get go in 2008. there is also a misfiremoniter. we can see short term fuel trims per a cyclinder too

I don't have the flash yet, but I would recommend you do so. They have updated the flash to make it a little better.

It is a good preventative tool.

cheezit , so you are saying if an injector is bad with *any* 6.4 , you will get a check engine light , a code , or something else ?

yes you will diffently get an or something. the other 2 options only sometimes. also knowing what fuel trim is will only tells you the cyclinder requires more or less fuel not always why.
but yes just like every modern engine out on the market if the pcm detects a fault with an injector or cyclinder balance you should set a dtc.... notice the word should.

Cheezit, I just had the update done as I had the dealer doing some other stuff. I'm sad that the cleaning exhaust filter now turns off from the display. I loved it when it stayed on during the duration. What gives with Ford on this??? I can get to it from the set-up/reset to monitor, just wondering about their reasoning.

There has been enough complains about the message going away. Ford is apparently considering adding it back in on future updates.

Stay tuned on that one.

Back when I would get the message I would drive until it was over, now I have no idea unless I notice the truck running a little funny. I check for messages and there it is, in regen mode. I have shut down the vehicle several times now while in the middle of a regen and not knowing it until I get out and smell it and hear the exhaust popping.

I was reading in another forum they took the message away because they got so many complaints about it, and after they took it away, the number of complaint did indeed go away. But it seems the folks who were accustomed to seeing it are now complaining about not seeing it.

Can't satisfy everyone, I guess. Maybe better off giving us an on/off option to let us pick ourselves!!

this is a very true statement.
I will say I have programed a number of 450/550 and the message seems to stay on on the one I have driven durring roadtesting. dont see alot of the 250/350 units.
