The kit I bought was supposed to be heavy duty. I had the sawzall quit 3 times, they replaced it all 3 times for free. That still got old as I live 100 miles from the nearest sears to exchange it..

w/o reading this whole thread, I see some of the problems with this.
Governement regualtions (that we MUST have, imo), really hinder the "Made in the USA" label.
Labor laws and enviromental laws really makes it hard for the "Made in the USA" folks to compete with forgien companies. If you had kids (in extreme cases) working for peanuts 18 hours a day with no benifits, how could you compete with?
If you were able to use "whatever material" you wanted in your product OR be able to discard your waste in the local stream for free whereas here you MUST "adopt" that material or waste and see it through from "cradle to grave", no matter the cost.
just my 2 dinar

In fact the mexican boots and much more articles or things made in Mexico are well done.
I haven't seen any boots made in Mexico around here. I still get leather belts made in Mexico that are quality for a good price, but haven't seen the boots.

And if you can't see the pictures, everyone is talking about the long toe curled up boots all the kids are wearing to the dance clubs and bars down in your country. I would make fun of your country for that, but until the kids in my country learn to pull their pants up, I don't think I've got any room to speak.

I believe Rocky boots are made in Colorado but could be mistaken. I'm going to check right now. Either way, my experiences with Rocky have been GREAT.

I didn't read all the responses but what about Snap-on cordless tools. I had one of their cordless impact guns and it worked well until someone stole it! I'm not sure where all their power tools are made but I thought most of their hand tools and such were made in USA!

Yep, it's sad how much of our product comes from other countries. Maybe we wouldn't have so much unemployment and debt if we brought the jobs home...

Especially the whole auto industry... I think Toyota Tundras are more "Made in the U.S." than any of the "U.S." big three trucks now.

I say loosen up regulations and let the free market sort it out. The United States is actually one of the best places to get labor because you can pretty much count on at least a high school education out of every employee. Compared to other places in the world, we can produce a fine product.

It's a quality versus quantity issue.

For what it's worth, my truck was made in Louisville, Kentucky.

I have no issue with Made in Mexico.
I specifially have a problem with MIC, and then MITaiwan.

There are several Redwing stores near me run by Amish, I have to check them out. Maybe they have the MIUSA ones.
I did in fact see in the stores a Redwing box that had MIC on the box.

Sears was not mentioned because we all know they are MIC and have been for a while. However, one Craftsman drill I use everyday and have for over 2 years my wife bought for $30 on Black Friday. Dam thing just keeps working....

This is the one I bought from Lowes: Dewalt
I had to have small and adjustable clutch. Impact is no good for what I do.
