What gears do I have??

I bought a 2003 F-350 SRW used about a year ago. I have no idea what gears are in the diffs. Is there an easy way to figure this out without having to pull the diff covers?

Yes there is. Go to your truck and look at the door post. There will be a sticker there or on the door itself that has the VIN and other information on it. There will also be an "axle code" on this sticker. Get the code from the sticker (should be 2 characters) and look in the Super Duty Tech Folder here:https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/4...lder_____.html . In post #3, there is a list of the axle codes for your truck.

If you can't find it on the door, there should be an axle tag attached to the rear axle housing that will have the same information on it.

Oh and Welcome to FTE!

Kewl. Thanks so much for the help. I'll go down and check it when I leave work. The boss kinda frowns on us running down to our cars to get codes off of it. I really can't understand why.

Glad to be here.

And of course, there may still be the factory tags on one of the diff cover bolts....

Ah man. I checked my door sticker. It says the axle code is a D1. that means I have a 3.73 with limited slip. Oh well. i was hoping for a 410 or 456.
