Is there supposed to be an outer axle seal on the 1990 dana 60 front?
I had mine apart to install a locker and was surprised to see there wasn't anything to prevent crud from entering in through the axle tube.
Or am I missing something?

 

No, superduties have one, you can buy an aftermarket one, but the company slips my mind at the moment. If you search my user name in this forum you'll find a thread i did where i made a seal for the end of the tube, basically two seals side by side at the tube end, just a regular seal type, but the problem is theres a bit to much movement in the axle at the outer ends and it would pound the seals out after 4 mud bogs, so i switched to filling the tubes with grease to keep them clean and aid in keeping crap out of the diffs when changing broken parts.

 

He is right, just the inner seals at the center section...

I tried seals at the ends, and they didn't work worth a crap
