Sweet.... I like the idea with the ash tray too. mine is just a big hole right now. Guess I have ideas to do with it now, once my engine swap is done.

Got a little done on the truck today. Kinda crushed for time. Woke up and split and stacked a ton of firewood. Wire wheeled some of the frame and cut out the rotted transmission crossmember. Probably going to make a new one at school. Not much going to get done for the rest of the day cuz its bow season here so Im gonna hit the woods for a while lol

You can get about 400 hp out of that with a set of 370 hp injectors, AFC kit, and a #4 TST fuel plate. Throw in a 4K governor spring kit and you will love it.

Here is a crappy cell phone pick of the rear half of the frame painted with KBS Coatings Rust Seal paint. It has about 2 coats of rust seal and The top coat they offer.

Hopefully getting more parts painted at school tomorrow. Will try to get a pic of them all hanging up painted up nice clean lookin. Its amazing what a nice coat of paint does to a project. Makes it look so much better.

As usual any comments are welcome. Im learning a ton as I progress in this project. Im tryin to learn as much as I can about this kind of stuff. Being 17 and doing this restoration is quite an experience. Thanks guys.

I was a little older, but the learning experience is exactly why I bought my truck. It is cool to get something you can learn on, and in the end have a nice ride as well

Keep up the good work

Nice work. Congrats on the buck as well. I am a muzzleloader guy, but want to start getting into bow hunting. Something about primitive arms and the more patient, slower type of hunting appeals to me. Kind of goes along with my slow approach to redoing old trucks. Just more relaxing.

The only thing that improves a good build thread is popping in a couple of deer hunt shots.

I am extremely jealous.

thanks guys. I plan on taking my doors into school and patching the bottom door skin on both. I dont have any other doors so I figured this would be cheaper. I Kind of have a little trouble finding dentside truck parts in my area. I wish I could. Its alright though. good practice haha

Havent got much done. Finished the dash with glazing putty and got it all smoothed out. Brought my fenders in to do the body work on them. So far I have 2 coats of high build on my dash. Plan on priming one of the fenders tomorrow and finishing up the body work on the other one.

Here is where the ash tray is welded shut. Cant even tell there was once an ash tray there. Perfectly smooth and blended.
