i have a 78 f-150 custom but when i fix it up i wanted to change it to a xlt lariet or ranger but not sure what all the differances are if any one has a pics to send that would be great this truck was made in 77 but has the 78-79 grill and the round headlites

Ranger
One step up from the Custom trim level was Ranger, which added rectangular headlights. It featured bright side moldings on the cab and, for Stylesides, the bed. "Chain mail"-styled vinyl upholstery was included, with Skanda cloth seats offered as a no-cost alternative. Chrome hubcaps and added sound insulation were also included.

Ranger XLT
Next up the prestige ladder was the Ranger XLT, which further added to the sound insulation, with cut-pile carpeting and an upgraded headliner. Cloth-and-vinyl seating, or chain-mail vinyl, was included, as were minor improvements to the interior trim such as wood-grain vinyl inserts in the door panels.

Ranger Lariat
The new, top-of-the-line trim level for 1978 was Ranger Lariat, available for Styleside trucks only, which included deluxe two-tone paint and special emblems, tailgate appliqué and moldings. It featured luxurious interior appointments, with cloth seats trimmed in extra-soft vinyl, extra carpeting, special button-quilted vinyl headliner and map pockets in the padded door trim panels.

ok cool thanks always kinda wandered why mine had the round headlites guess i got a lot of work a head of me most of it will be the side mouldings and the chrome stuff
