I believe that. Were you on I-65?
I had to drive to Dayton from AL and back last Oct. in a Malibu rental and was yelling for more power up some of those hills.
There were diesel pickups passing me up some hills and was driving me crazy knowing mine was at home sitting in my driveway.
At least it was 32+ MPG in that under powered vehicle according to the LOM.

We just finished our first Long trip last week. Tampa Fla to Syracuse NY, and back. First time that I used the trip odometer and was pleasently suprised that it indicated MPG, and Gallons of fuel used in addition to time and miles. The entire trip consisted of 2657mi including side trips, and we averaged 18.9mpg @70mph empty. I noticed that when I had to drive @55mph we got close to 20mpg. Everything worked as designed and there no problems.

Just curious with respect to the regens. Other MPG threads suggest that if you work it hard, you will have less regens, thus better MPG.
My truck will be a weekend/ cabin every three weeks. Then a couple of long tows with TT for vacations. Since it is not being worked hard, regularly, I would presume there will be more regens, resulting in less MPG.
Not sure if this makes sense....
