so the tape is factory, that was one of the first things I noticed, and untaped it and pulled the wore out of the protective plastic to look at it, then when place back I took it above the air intake tube and wire tided it to keep it from wearing on things, i would say I spent at least 2 hours checking, looking, and push,pull thinking bad connections might be the deal, before chenging the fuel filter,
then when it started running fine even while driving down road had a helper wiggle, push and pull the wires and connector

I just don't see how a fuel filter or HPOP can cause one side of the engine to miss fire.
The big wire harness that drapes across the driver side valve cover has been known to wear through and cause your symptoms too. It's the one that loosely wrapped with red tape. Try shaking the harness with the truck running to see if the engine cuts out.
