couple random questions

ok got the pump in and like usual theres a ton of air in the system, 30 miles later its taking its sweet time.. i reused the gasket becuase joey said i could if it looked ok, sure does! if it was bad will it cause a leak of some sort internally? long cranks still, when cold its not as but but as of 5 minute ago it litterally wont start. didnt have the issue before the swap.

new ipr orings and the res is up to the top, the oil will flicker but i dont see it bubbling? cps works, no dead fuses and chip is solid in there. wtf mang!

guess ill wait a good few hours for the oil to cool(90* out...) and give it another go?

Mine took about 100 miles or so to get the air all out. Closer to 150 I think. If your res is staying full I'd think there wouldn't be any internal leaks. I'm no expert either though. Mine never was quite hard to get going for a while but would always catch. I think you still just got a lot of air to work out. Gotta get it fired up and run it hard or for a good distance and get it back to normal!

Yeah. my second start was 5 mins long at the fuel station, so embarasing. haha.

starting it and running it then letting it sit is gonna work out the air quicker.

Long runs doesn't always give the air a chance to settle out.
Mine was starting good around 50-60 miles.

Never had this problem. I put the T500 in my e99 and once run down the FWY 15 or 20 each direction it settled in fine. If you have no exturnal leaks you should be fine. Good luck, I noticed better fuel econmy on long trips after install to. Chet

I drove a 160 miles and the next morning was hard to start. After a few days of short starts around town it cleared up.

I fill the reservior, crank maybe 10 seconds, then crack one of the oil plugs on the heads to vent the air and pull oil down from the reservior, then repeat the process until oil comes out the plugs on both heads. Then it starts easy every time in my experience. I've swapped injectors and hpop a few times and never had an extended crank or start problem following this process.

Sometimes it takes alot of miles. I did my pump, injectors, headstuds valve springs and a few other mods all at once. It took me a very long drive. Didn't clear up till half way thru Kentucky. It must've heard Banjo's and decided to straighten up. LOL

Where are these plugs on the heads and won't this introduce more air into the engine? Not sure I understand the way the oil system works, so please school me.
Thanks,

When I swapped the pump on Whitey I just re-filled the HPO reservoir and cranked it over, didn't have any issues. It took slightly longer to start the first time but idled fine and never gave me any more problems after that.
